The measure has yet to receive a hearing in Trenton. During a virtual forum, Assemblywoman Valerie Vainieri Huttle (D-Bergen), prime sponsor of the bill, said that in an election year, some lawmakers can be reluctant to get on the record on such a contentious issue.
